We happily downloaded your app, just like you asked, and trekked 2.8 miles to the nearest Starbucks, smartphones in hand. There we awkwardly stood just inside the door, Starbucks employees eyeing us suspiciously. But we didn’t care. We continued to click and tap away on our screens only to find that we CANNOT REDEEM INSIDE THE APP. You actually directed us back to the site (with a text url, not a link). WTH!
In serious need of caffeine, and seriously doubting our digital aptitude, we pushed through the hassle of typing in the URL, logging in and finding the purchased offer (which in itself took many, many clicks). Determination got two of us through, but the third had no way out but the wallet (and she’d already paid you for the offer!).
True, we got what we came for (our delicious raspberry and black shaken iced teas), but we didn’t get what we signed up for. We left feeling frustrated, with our heads hung low as we grumbled, “epic UX fail!”
Google Offers, we are sorely disappointed in you. Shame.
