Since its launch in January, a lot of skepticism and uncertainty has surrounded Vine, the 6-second mobile video app that Twitter acquired last fall. In fact, more often than not, the discussion surrounding the app has mostly been centered around one important question: What exactly do we use it for?
It’s a fair question, and given Twitter’s general popularity with millennials and celebrities, most business professionals have struggled to find footing with the app. Then came April, and all of a sudden, Vine became the hottest thing on the social media block. The app shot to the top of the iPhone app store and has maintained a steady position since then.
At Gate6 we’ve been watching Vine since it’s launch, patiently planning our foray into the space, and we’re happy to announce that the time has come for us to give Vine a go.
Given our line of work, we think it’s important for people to understand the basics of the platform and how they can utilize it with their businesses. One of the best things about Vine is its ability to help brands give consumers deeper visual insight without the hassle of creating full-length, high-definition, quality videos.
This is big for businesses and professionals who normally operate at warp speeds. Vine allows users to capture and share unique and exciting moments with whomever they choose. When we start to look at it like that, all of a sudden the possibilities seem endless.
In the weeks to follow, we plan on using Vine to show brands how they can effectively use the app to tell their stories and create content that gives consumers the insider access they crave.
