Arizona is home to some incredible charities and non-profit organizations deserving of support and attention. One such organization is the Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona which uses artistic expression to heal abused, neglected and homeless children. By giving children a voice and medium to express their hopes, fears and frustrations, Free Arts helps build self-esteem, social skills and trust in a situation where those things may be difficult to find. We’d like to give this organization a virtual standing ovation.
Free Arts is participating in an amazing opportunity March 20 to help raise money for future projects and initiatives. Arizona Gives Day is a one-day event that raises money for non-profits in Arizona by encouraging the community to donate to their favorite causes. This event gives Free Arts a chance to share its mission and the work they do with a broader audience.
At Gate6 we support the mission of Free Arts and believe organizations like these deserve more attention, but understand funds aren’t always available. So how do you get the word out about your cause without a lot of cost? That’s the magic of digital.
By leveraging blogs, websites and social media, organizations with few advertising dollars can still spread the word about events and their work. They can harness the power of social sharing by creating one simple visual design and multiplying it across all channels.
If the design has a visual or emotional appeal and is so compelling that people want to share, your visuals, and more importantly your message, will spread like wildfire. You can reach a greater audience just because of your design’s shareability. Gate6 helped Free Arts create a media kit of tailored assets to get people excited about Arizona Gives Day by speaking to a person’s natural connection with the innocence of childhood and feelings of hope. An example of the design is up top.
People will share things they can connect to. If a visual gives you an emotional response, you are more likely to tell others about it, and they will do the same. When you have a great message and can represent it in a way that sparks feelings, it is easy to get the word out.
