In Phase 1 we focused on developing an algorithm to determine how long each technician spent on different activities, including brushing, skimming and vacuuming the pool based on gyro data and the speed of the movements.
Once this was established, we moved to Phase 2, which included building the app to include all features necessary to monitor the entire job process. Technicians are able to take photos, report issues, and walk step-by-step through the entire job, recording all information as they go. Each of the devices being used by the technicians includes a video camera with a hotspot on the device so that the technicians could connect with their mobile devices. All of the video files are transferred quickly from the hardware device to the mobile app and then to the server. On the back end, we developed a dashboard for Manager and Admin users so they can monitor all of the information coming in from the device and the app and address any issues with their technicians.
Phase 3 included updating all of the processes so that the product can be white labeled and sold on a subscription basis to other pool companies who want to take advantage of the enhanced oversight and control of the quality of their operations.
